Government Arts & Science College, Thennangur, Vandavasi-604408, Thiruvannamalai District is a Co-education Institution. It was started with view to impart the relevant and purposeful education to the students especially the students who hail from rural areas. The College was started in 2010. Today it has eight departments offering from UG (B.A. English, B.Com, B.Sc Computer Science, B.Sc Maths, B.Sc. Physics, B.A. Tamil, B.Sc Bio-Chemistry, B.Sc Zoology) with two PG(M.Com, M.Sc. Maths) Courses. The College strength is around 1350 students recording a qualitative and quantative growth as well.

The Department of Bio-Chemistry and Zoology was established in the year 2017. This has been achieved by the collective and responsive effort of the faculty, the supporting staff and the students.
